SEATTLE, April 2025 — Delta Dental of Washington has launched a new virtual dental care service in partnership with Dentistry.One, giving more than 4 million members statewide the ability to access dental support online.
The collaboration introduces a range of digital services, including live video consultations, phone-based reviews, and SmileScan — an AI-powered tool that tracks and monitors oral health remotely.
According to Delta Dental, the virtual platform can help diagnose and manage common dental issues such as cavities, gum disease, chipped teeth, crowding, and oral pain. The service also provides guidance on hygiene and general dental care.
Marya Lou, Communications Manager at Delta Dental of Washington, said the move is part of an effort to remove barriers in dental care, especially in underserved and rural communities.
“Making sure we’re reaching members across the state and ensuring they have access to care is really important to us,” Lou said.
The company currently serves around 69,000 people in Clark County alone. Lou noted that the virtual option supports broader access and offers convenience for patients who may struggle to visit a dental office in person.
Virtual care is now one of two additional services Delta Dental of Washington provides beyond traditional dental coverage.
The insurer recently partnered with Amplifon to offer members savings on hearing aids.
“Both of these partnerships are great examples of Delta Dental of Washington’s commitment to expanding the well-being of our members and increasing access to health care,” Lou said.
The new digital service is available now and aims to improve care access and outcomes through innovative technology and expanded support.
