BOLIVIA, N.C. (WECT) — Over 200 patients will receive free dental care next month in Bolivia as part of Coastal Cosmetic Family Dentistry’s annual Dentistry From The Heart event.
Scheduled for May 16, the event will take place at the Bolivia office, where dental professionals will provide services on a first-come, first-served basis. Additionally, Novant Health will be present to screen participants for high blood pressure.
“We support the community throughout the year with events like Give Kids A Smile and Freedom Day, but Dentistry From The Heart is especially meaningful. It has grown significantly over the last 11 years, and the spirit behind it is stronger than ever,” said Dr. Darren Harrington, one of the event organizers.
Since its inception, the office has donated $400,000 worth of dental care to more than 2,000 residents of Brunswick County.
“We truly value this community,” added Dr. Aaron Wilharm. “Seeing so many people ready to help others when I walk across our parking lot on the morning of the event is always heartwarming.”
The event will run from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on May 16.
