A new maternity dental clinic, designed to meet Japanese standards, opened on March 26 at Tu Du Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City. The clinic is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and specializes in advanced dental care for expectant mothers, with a focus on preventing future oral health issues for their unborn children.
The clinic is operated by highly trained doctors from Tu Du Hospital, in collaboration with specialists from the city’s Odonto-Stomatology Hospital, ensuring that it meets Japan’s rigorous medical standards.
During the inauguration ceremony, Nguyen Van Vinh Chau, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Health, praised the clinic as a symbol of the growing partnership between Ho Chi Minh City and Nagoya, Japan. He emphasized that its opening marks an important milestone in the strengthening ties between Vietnam and Japan, particularly in healthcare.
Tu Du Hospital, a leading institution in obstetrics and gynecology, handles over 300,000 prenatal check-ups and births annually. The addition of this dental clinic underscores the hospital’s commitment to expanding and enhancing its services, particularly in the area of oral healthcare for pregnant women.
Masuo Ono, Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City, noted that the clinic is a prime example of the effectiveness of the Vietnam-Japan Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, especially in the fields of healthcare and public health. He expressed that the clinic’s goal is not only to provide dental care for expectant mothers but also to help prevent oral infections and contribute to the vision of a “cavity-free generation” for Vietnamese children.
