WYTHEVILLE, Va. (WDBJ) – Wytheville Community College (WCC) is hosting a Dental Hygiene Career Fair, inviting individuals interested in the dental field to explore career opportunities.
The event, which is open to the public, will provide both educational and networking opportunities for attendees. According to Ewell Vernon, the Dean of Health Professions and Medical Services at WCC, the fair is not just about job hunting but also learning more about the dental profession.
Amber Shuler, the Head of the Dental Hygiene Program, emphasized that the fair is designed for anyone considering a career change or simply curious about the dental industry. Attendees will have the chance to speak with current dental students, faculty, and staff, as well as connect with dental practices that are hiring.
WCC offers programs in dental hygiene and dental assisting, and has a fully operational Dental Hygiene Clinic. Shuler noted that the clinic provides students with a hands-on opportunity to develop critical skills, such as patient interaction, managing appointments, and discussing sensitive health topics.
The Dental Hygiene Career Fair will take place on April 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Grayson Hall on the Wytheville campus.
