Dr. Alexis Klassen, of Alexis Klassen & Associates, hosted the Forward Falcon Dental Workshop last month at her Bowling Green office, located at 1218 Ridgewood Drive.
The event welcomed approximately 15 to 20 students from Bowling Green State University’s (BGSU) Pre-Professional Program, all of whom are pursuing careers in dentistry. The workshop provided a rare opportunity for hands-on training, allowing students to engage in activities typically introduced in the second year of dental school.
Participants practiced intra-oral scanning, placed dental restorations on mannequin models, and performed periodontal measurements. They also explored gum disease diagnosis, reviewed essential dental terminology, received an introduction to dental radiographs, and learned about instrument sterilization following universal precautions.
Dr. Klassen has been actively involved with BGSU’s Pre-Professional Program since 2020. In addition to mentoring students, she established the university’s first pre-dental scholarship, which supports two pre-dental students each year.
