The University of Guyana’s College of Medical Sciences has launched its first-ever dental teaching clinic, a new facility set to benefit students, faculty, and the local community.
The modern Dental Training Clinic and Laboratory were made possible through a generous donation from the Greater Guyana Initiative (GGI), which includes ExxonMobil Guyana, CNOOC Petroleum, and HESS Corporation. This contribution is part of GGI’s ongoing development partnership with the University of Guyana.
The new clinic will also allow the university to increase its intake of dental students, nearly doubling the number of admissions to the dental program this year. This expansion is expected to enhance the university’s ability to train more skilled dental professionals, encourage research, support the community, and promote collaborative efforts across various disciplines.
