Stratasys has officially launched its TrueDent-D resin in Europe, now available as a CE Mark Class I medical device. This development paves the way for the sale of TrueDent’s monolithic, multi-shade digital dentures across European countries requiring CE marking. Following a successful U.S. debut in 2023, the TrueDent solution is poised to provide a scalable, efficient, and high-quality denture production process for dental labs and clinicians throughout Europe. The demand for TrueDent-D resin is already gaining traction, with over 30 customers lined up to onboard in early 2025.
A recent report from iData reveals that the demand for denture solutions in Europe continues to rise. The market for dentures in the region is expected to grow from USD 2.19 billion in 2023 to USD 2.45 billion by 2028. Stratasys’ TrueDent aims to meet this demand with a fully digital workflow that allows dental labs to produce customized dentures more efficiently, resulting in improved outcomes for both dentists and patients with fewer appointments.
Stratasys estimates that producing a TrueDent denture costs less than half of traditional methods. A single Stratasys J5 DentaJet printer can produce over 30 full monolithic, multi-shade dentures per print job, an industry-leading output.
A standout feature of TrueDent is the ability to quickly print duplicate dentures with the click of a button, giving clinicians a fast and reliable backup for their patients. TrueDent is the only solution capable of producing identical dentures, ensuring consistency in fit, form, function, and aesthetics. This capability opens the door for new business models, allowing customers to scale production without increasing costs or labor demands.
Tra’ Chambers, owner of Express Dental Laboratories in the U.S., shared his experience: “The TrueDent solution has transformed our denture business. The streamlined digital workflow and precision allow us to produce up to 225 dental appliances per day while delivering high-quality, aesthetic products to our customers. Stratasys’ TrueDent offering has improved the care we provide, saving time and costs for both clinicians and patients.”
Globally, over 267.5 million people suffer from edentulism, a condition where individuals are missing natural teeth. In many regions, over 10% of adults aged 50 and older experience this condition. The percentage of denture cases produced using digital methods in the U.S. has risen from 5% in 2022 to 11% in 2024. Similarly, European dental labs are increasingly adopting digital workflows to combat labor shortages and meet patient demands with greater speed and precision.
TrueDent offers a solution to labs struggling with traditional fabrication methods, which often rely on manual assembly by skilled workers. Already successful in the U.S., TrueDent is proving its value by streamlining the dental lab process.
By integrating a fully automated digital workflow, TrueDent reduces manual touchpoints by 27 or more per print, minimizes chair time for both dental professionals and patients, and improves patient satisfaction with aesthetically pleasing, accurately fitting dentures.
Erez Ben Zvi, VP of Healthcare at Stratasys, expressed excitement about the launch: “We are thrilled to introduce TrueDent-D to Europe. Our monolithic TrueDent solution offers unmatched fidelity, aesthetics, and scalability, all while reducing labor costs and enabling precise reproductions. The enthusiasm across Europe for this innovative solution is palpable, as it enhances the experience for dental professionals and raises the standard of care for patients.”
