Sachem Dental Group, in partnership with the Stony Brook Foundation, has created the Sachem Dental Group Endodontics Scholarship Fund at Stony Brook University’s School of Dental Medicine. The scholarship will support top-performing residents enrolled in the school’s Advanced Dental Education Program in Endodontics.
“We are grateful for this generous gift from Sachem Dental Group,” said Dr. Patrick Lloyd, dean of the School of Dental Medicine. “This support will ease the financial burden for our residents and give them more freedom to explore professional opportunities after graduation.”
Sachem Dental Group has served Central Suffolk County for over three decades, offering a full range of oral healthcare services. The practice operates six offices in communities including Holbrook, Lake Ronkonkoma, Nesconset, Selden, and Patchogue.
“As Sachem Dental Group became the largest private group dental practice on Long Island, we recognized how much we owe to the many doctors who came from Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine,” said Dr. Anthony Gentile of Sachem Dental Group. “Our founding and current partners, along with our staff, felt it was time to give back. That’s why we chose to support students in the Advanced Dental Education Program in Endodontics. We hope that by giving back, our graduates will be inspired to do the same.”
Dr. Thomas Manders, a 1991 alumnus who leads the endodontic residency program at Stony Brook, expressed his excitement about the future. “This scholarship will help us attract and support even more exceptional endodontic residents in the years ahead,” he said.
