DAR ES SALAAM, Tanzania – In a significant move to improve oral healthcare, Tanzania is set to host the first-ever Dental Expo 2025 in Dar es Salaam next month. The event is expected to draw over 2,000 participants from around the world, providing a platform for the exchange of knowledge and the introduction of innovative dental technologies to the country.
Scheduled for May 30-31, the two-day event will bring together dental professionals, healthcare providers, industry leaders, and key stakeholders. Dr. Baraka Nzobo, Chairman of the Tanzania Dental Expo Board and Assistant Director for Oral Health Services at the Ministry of Health, confirmed the details during a press briefing in Dar es Salaam yesterday.
Dr. Nzobo emphasized that the expo aims to foster collaboration and drive innovation within Tanzania’s dental health sector. “The expo aligns with the country’s broader healthcare goals, particularly addressing non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and working toward achieving Universal Health Coverage (UHC) by 2030,” he explained.
Focus on Innovation and Collaboration
The Tanzania Dental Expo 2025 will feature various activities, including workshops, live product demonstrations, and B2B meetings. These will provide attendees with the chance to engage with both local and international manufacturers, healthcare providers, and financial institutions, key players in driving investment and fostering partnerships in the dental sector.
“The event will serve as a platform for professionals to stay up to date with the latest trends and technological advancements in the global dental health industry,” said Dr. Ambege Mwakatobe, Executive Director of the Tanzania Dental Expo. He highlighted that the expo’s significance extends beyond Tanzania, offering a valuable opportunity for neighboring countries as well.
