CCRI to Offer Free Dental Hygiene Services for Youths

LINCOLN, R.I. – The Community College of Rhode Island (CCRI) Dental Hygiene Clinic will host a Sealant and Fluoride Community Day on Friday, April 25, from 9 a.m. to noon at its Lincoln Campus, providing free dental sealants and fluoride treatments for children and teens ages 6 to 17.

The event, led by CCRI’s dental hygiene students, will offer preventive care under the supervision of licensed professionals.

This initiative aims to enhance oral health access for local families while giving students valuable hands-on training in their field.

Preventive Care for Stronger Teeth

Dental sealants are a safe and effective way to protect teeth from cavities, while fluoride treatments help strengthen enamel. By offering these services at no cost, CCRI is working to promote oral health and reduce barriers to preventive dental care in the community.

“Our dental hygiene students are excited to apply their skills while making a real impact in the community,” said Janice Schmitz, chair of CCRI’s Dental Health Programs. “This event is a wonderful opportunity for families to receive free preventive care and for our students to gain practical experience in patient care.”
