SAN MATEO, Calif. — Overjet, a leader in dental AI technology, announced the launch of its Dental Clarity Network (DCN) today. This new initiative brings together key players from across the dental care system, using advanced technology to improve the patient experience and reduce friction between insurance providers and dental professionals.
The network’s first innovation, ReviewPASS, aims to simplify the process of insurance reviews for dental procedures.
ReviewPASS enables providers to skip the manual insurance review process for many common treatments, helping patients and dentists navigate the often confusing and time-consuming approval process. Overjet’s survey of more than 1,000 U.S. adults revealed that 63% of patients feel uncertain about the costs of their dental work. ReviewPASS addresses this concern by providing real-time, transparent information about dental benefits, boosting confidence for both patients and dental providers regarding future reimbursements.
Several major dental providers and insurers have already joined the Dental Clarity Network. These include MetLife, Humana, Guardian, Dental Care Alliance, The Smilist Dental, North American Dental Group, InterDent, and CORDENTAL GROUP. By mid-2025, Overjet expects ReviewPASS to be in live testing with at least five of the top 20 U.S. dental insurers.
These partners are instrumental in shaping the technology that will allow patients to instantly access information about their coverage, without waiting for clinical review.
“We’re excited to work with partners who are committed to advancing the dental industry and resolving a major pain point for all involved,” said Overjet CEO Wardah Inam. “Solving industry-wide issues requires collaborative solutions, and our network is dedicated to using technology to improve patient care.”
ReviewPASS is the first service of its kind, offering real-time, upfront feedback to indicate whether an insurance claim will bypass the clinical review process. It covers over 300 dental procedures, including higher-cost treatments like crowns, root canals, implants, and scaling and root planing. The technology also streamlines administrative tasks by automating the collection of necessary documentation, easing the workload for dental offices. Importantly, ReviewPASS does not deny claims; instead, it provides guidance on how to submit the right documents to support the approval process.
Dr. Pete Fuentes, Chief Dental Officer at MetLife, shared his support for the initiative, stating, “We want to ensure that patients can access the care they need without the worry of unexpected bills. Through our partnership with Overjet, we are offering policyholders real-time clarity about their coverage, based on the treatment plan and documentation provided by their dentist. This will also help providers identify any documentation gaps upfront and receive faster payments.”
Overjet began testing ReviewPASS in private beta in February 2025, with plans to roll it out for industry-wide use later that year. If ReviewPASS cannot provide an immediate response due to a need for more information, dentists can still proceed with existing insurance processes.
