HUTCHINSON, Kan. (KWCH) – A free dental clinic will take place this weekend in Hutchinson, Kansas, organized by the Kansas Mission of Mercy (KMOM). The event is scheduled for January 17 and 18 at the Meadowlark Building of the Kansas State Fairgrounds.
The two-day clinic will provide complimentary dental care for both adults and children. Doors will open at 5:30 a.m. on each day.
Individuals who lack regular dental care or have unmet dental needs are encouraged to attend. No insurance, prior documentation, or X-rays are required.
Local dentists Todd Esau and Jared Dye will lead this year’s event in collaboration with the Kansas Dental Charitable Foundation. Services available include cleanings, fillings, extractions, and dental hygiene education. Patients will be treated on a first-come, first-served basis.
The clinic will feature around 100 dental chairs and nearly 1,000 volunteers, including dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants.
KMOM operates without state or federal funding and relies entirely on donations and grants. Local volunteers play a crucial role in the success of the event.
Since its inception in 2003, KMOM has provided free dental services to over 32,000 patients, amounting to a total value of $23.2 million in care.
